For example, in an imbalanced dataset where the positive class occurs infrequently, a high accuracy score might be misleading if the model predominantly predicts the majority class. In such cases, precision, recall, or F1-score for each class can provide a more nuanced understanding of the model's performance.

It is a simple and intuitive metric to assess classification model performance, but it's crucial to consider other evaluation metrics and the specific characteristics of the dataset to get a comprehensive view of the model's effectiveness.
